Order attribution
A recovery is not a claim, it is a Shopify order ID you can open in your own admin. Refund it and the credit reverses on its own.
How a recovery is created
When an order comes in carrying one of Clinch's single-use discount codes, Clinch records it as a recovery tied to that order's real Shopify order ID. Nothing is inferred or estimated: the code on the order is the same code Clinch issued to that shopper, so the link between the offer and the sale is direct.
Refunds reverse automatically
A refunded order is struck out of your recovered totals the moment the refund happens, and any fee tied to that order is credited back without you needing to ask. A recovery total on the dashboard only ever reflects orders that are still standing.
What Analytics shows
- Trend. Recovered revenue and order count over time.
- Funnel. How many shoppers saw the offer, claimed a code, and went on to purchase, so you can see where the drop-off actually is.
- Per-trigger breakdown. Which exit signal, desktop cursor, mobile scroll, back gesture, or idle, is producing recoveries, and which is mostly dismissed.
- Economics. Revenue, the cost of the discounts given, and the Clinch fee, side by side on one view.

Common questions
How do I verify a recovery actually happened?
Open the order ID Clinch shows for that recovery directly in your Shopify admin. It is the same order, with the same discount code applied, that the shopper actually placed.
What happens if a recovered order is refunded?
Clinch listens for the refund and strikes that order out of the totals automatically. Any fee already charged or pending on it is credited back, unasked.
What does Analytics show beyond the order list?
A trend over time, a funnel from impression through claim to purchase, a breakdown by which trigger fired, the underlying revenue and discount-cost economics, and a per-signal report of how often each trigger gets dismissed within two seconds.
