Comparison

Clinch vs Justuno

Justuno is a capable conversion platform used by large stores, with design control and targeting rules to match. Clinch removes the control surface entirely and does one job. That is the whole trade.

The short answer

Choose Justuno if you want design control, layered targeting, and a platform that can run many campaign types, and you have the time to configure it well.

Choose Clinch if you want the recovery offer to run itself and be billed only on results.

Where Justuno wins

If the popup needs to match a specific creative direction, or you want rules like "returning visitors from paid social, viewing this collection, with more than two items", Justuno is built for that. Clinch cannot express those rules and does not try.

Justuno is also mature and widely reviewed. Clinch is new.

Where Clinch is different

The offer writes itself. Clinch reads the page and names what the shopper was looking at, then shows the discount as real money saved rather than an abstract percentage. There is no template to build and no copy to maintain when your catalog changes.

Mobile is a first-class trigger. Because there is no cursor on a phone, Clinch listens for the gestures that actually precede leaving: the fast scroll up toward the address bar, the back gesture, and going idle with a full cart.

Honest measurement is built in. Clinch can hold the offer back from a random share of leaving shoppers and compare how many bought anyway, which answers whether the discount changed anything. See discounting without training discount hunters for why that matters for margin.

Running both

If you already run Justuno campaigns, avoid two popups on the same trigger. Either keep Justuno for welcome and campaign offers and let Clinch own the exit moment, or disable Clinch on the pages where a Justuno exit campaign is already live.

Common questions

Is Justuno harder to set up than Clinch?

Generally yes, because it does more. Justuno offers a design canvas and layered targeting rules, which merchants often cite as powerful but requiring time to learn. Clinch has one decision: a discount percentage or free shipping.

How does Clinch handle mobile?

Mouse-based exit intent does not exist on phones, so Clinch uses touch signals instead: a fast upward scroll, the back gesture, and prolonged idle time with items in the cart. Each can be turned off in settings.

Which gives better reporting?

They report different things. Justuno reports campaign performance across many campaign types. Clinch reports one number, revenue recovered, matched order by order through single-use codes, plus a holdout that estimates how much of it was incremental.

Try it on your own store

Clinch is free to install. The Free plan costs $0 per month and takes 10% of revenue it actually recovers, so if it recovers nothing you pay nothing.
